Do you have a plan for what you would do during a home invasion/burglary? It is important to plan ahead. We all plan for what we would do in case of a house fire. We teach our kids how to dial 911, we practice fire drills and we install smoke detectors in our homes to warn us of impeding dangers. The sad reality of it is that we are more likely to be victims of a violent encounter then a residential house fire. Three time more likely. This is a starting point to what we can do to prepare ourselves and increase our chances of survival. It is by no means a all encompassing guide. Everyone's situation is different and your plan might need to include things not listed here. The key to this is to try to think like a criminal and see where you need improvement.
